Direct Messages (DMs) are live on DRiP, bringing a new layer of interaction, enabling creators and supporters to connect seamlessly within the platform. Whether you're planning collaborations, handling shipping details for physicals, or simply chatting with fellow fans.

This guide covers how to use DMs, customize settings, and view profile statistics right in conversations.

Accessing DMs

1. Log in to your DRiP account on the web or app.
2. Look for the envelope icon (✉️) in the top navigation bar, next to notifications and your Droplet balance.
3. Click the icon to open your inbox. You'll see any existing conversations or a prompt to start a new one.
4. To message someone new, use the search bar to find users, creators, or channels by username or name.
5. Start typing your message and send—it's that simple!

DMs support text, and you can switch between personal and channel accounts if you manage both.

Customizing DM Settings for Users

Control who can message you to keep your inbox manageable:

1. Go to your profile settings (click your avatar > Settings).
2. Under "Direct Messages," choose from:
   • Everyone: Anyone on DRiP can DM you.
   • People You Follow: Only those you follow can initiate a conversation.

   • Supporters Only: Exclusive to supporters who've donated a minimum amount of Droplets (set a custom threshold, e.g., 100 Droplets). Non-qualifying users see a prompt showing how many more Droplets they need to contribute, with quick links to your Thanks page or Store.

  • Collectibles owned, broken down by rarity (e.g., 45 common, 29 rare, 17 legendary).
  • Auctions won (e.g., 1 auction).

• For Creator Channels:
  • Follower count (e.g., 175k followers).
  • Total thanks received (e.g., 106.8k thanks).
  • About section with a brief bio (e.g., "Visual storytelling from Indonesia using collage, film, and mixed media").
