The Standard Drop method is what's used by a majority of creators. This method uses the following tools to activate, promote and execute a successful drop, and drive donation activity to your channel!
Tools:
- Perks (Criteria the creator has set in place which defines how Thankers/Collectors can earn their collectibles!)
- Snapshot Timer (A visible countdown towards the date the creator plans to publish collectibles to their audience. Thankers must qualify for perks criteria before the timer ends to earn collectibles!)
- Leaderboard (A section which tracks Thankers by Rank, from Highest donations to Lowest. Only the Top 10 are displayed visually, but ALL thankers from the snapshot period are counted towards the perks on display!)
Typical flow of a Standard Drop:
- Create the collectibles you intend to use for your drop
- Decide the criteria for supporters to earn those collectibles, then set up your Perks
- Schedule your Snapshot Timer.
(When first starting, it's ideal to allow for 5-7 days on the countdown to allow the leaderboard to build up.) - Promote/Market your upcoming drop! Share perks and teasers as posts on your Channel, engage with the community, and build energy around what is coming. This helps to bring people in to drive donations to your leaderboard.
- Once the Snapshot Timer ends, the Leaderboard resets to Zero, and the data from all Supporters is retained in Studio.
- You can then Publish each collectible, one by one, based on your Perks criteria (e.g. if your Rare perk says "Guaranteed to Top 25 Thankers", you'd go to your Rare collectible, then publish it to an Audience with the criteria of the Top 25 thankers!)
- When the drop is finished, your perks can once again be edited.
If you intend to use different perks on your next drop, or are unsure what you'd like to use, it's a best practice to delete your perks, or swap them with a placeholder message until you're ready to redefine them!
